What is a Minecraft Earth server?

Earth servers run a scaled Minecraft map of the real world — players claim countries and cities, form nations, trade resources, and wage geopolitical wars.

  • Scaled Earth map. Most Earth servers use a 1:500 to 1:1000 scale of the real planet — recognizable continents and coastlines, large enough to settle every region.
  • Claim and build nations. Plant your capital, recruit residents, expand territory. Diplomacy, alliances, and wars are the long game.
  • Economy and trade. Resources are unevenly distributed across the map, so trade routes between nations matter just as much as armies.
  • Free on Java and Bedrock. Every Earth server here is free to play. Crossplay between PC and mobile via Geyser on most Java Earth servers.
  • Towny + Earth = the genre. Most Earth servers run on the Towny plugin with a custom world. If you want claims without the real-map twist, check Best Towny servers.

Frequently asked questions

How do I join an Earth server on Minehut?

Connect to mc.minehut.com from the Minecraft Java multiplayer menu, then pick an Earth server from the list above and join it through the Minehut lobby with /server <name>. From Bedrock Edition, connect to bedrock.minehut.com on port 19132.

Is Earth a 1:1 scale Minecraft map?

Most Earth Minecraft servers use a scaled-down map — typically 1:500 to 1:1000 — rather than a true 1:1. A full 1:1 Earth would be far too large to run as a playable shared world, so server admins shrink the scale while keeping continents, coastlines, and country borders recognizable.

Are these Earth servers free?

Yes. Every Earth server listed here is free to play on Minehut. You only need a legitimate Minecraft Java or Bedrock account.

Can I make my own Earth server?

Yes — Minehut hosts community servers free of charge. Spin one up in under a minute, install an Earth map and Towny plugin, and invite friends. See /server-plans for paid tiers.
