What is a Gens server?
Gens (generator) servers turn Minecraft into an idle-progression game — place generator blocks, collect what they produce, and reinvest into bigger gens.
- Place, collect, upgrade. Each generator tier produces a higher-value drop. Sell the drops, buy the next tier, watch your income compound.
- Plots and gen limits. Most Gens servers give every player a personal plot with a gen cap, so progression is about quality, not just quantity.
- Leaderboards and prestige. Top earners, top island value, prestige resets for permanent multipliers — the long-tail loop is baked in.
- Trade with other players. Auction houses and player shops let you flip rare gens and gems for serious profit margins.
- Free on Java and Bedrock. Crossplay between PC and mobile via Geyser. Bring any legitimate Minecraft account.
Frequently asked questions
How do I join a Gens server on Minehut?
Connect to mc.minehut.com from the Minecraft Java multiplayer menu, then pick a Gens server from the list above and join it through the Minehut lobby with /join <name>. From Bedrock Edition, connect to bedrock.minehut.com on port 19132.
How are Gens different from a Tycoon server?
Both are idle progression. Gens centers on placing generator blocks that produce items on a timer — you optimize gen-tier composition and prestige. Tycoon is broader: factories, conveyors, businesses, and bigger-picture economy management. Gens is leaner; Tycoon is closer to a simulation game.
Can I make my own Gens server?
Yes — Minehut hosts community servers free of charge. Spin up a server in under a minute and install a Gens plugin from the in-panel marketplace. See /server-plans for paid tiers.
Are these Gens servers free?
Yes. Every Gens server listed here is free to play on Minehut. You only need a legitimate Minecraft Java or Bedrock account.
